Statement of Safety Policy

January 2008

  1. The Company recognises that under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, it has a legal duty to ensure the safety, health and welfare at work of all employees together with others not in direct employment but have occasion to be visiting any site or premises.
  2. The Board of Directors in carrying out their responsibilities insist that everyone is fully aware that they too have a legal obligation to comply fully with all the safety standards and to acquaint themselves with construction regulations which are available from the site offices or to discuss the matters of which there is any doubt with the site supervisor.
  3. For all on site employees there is specific information detailing individual safety responsibilities from the Safety Director, MR MICHAEL WRIGHT to site employees. Periodic checks are made and anyone found to be failing to respond satisfactorily to their duties are disciplined.
  4. Training is given on site at various times and visits are also made by members of the Construction Safety Training Unit in conjunction with the CITB. All employees are then expected to recognise and guard against foreseeable hazards and how to meet the responsibilities placed on them.
  5. All sub contractors have to confirm that they have read and fully understood the Company Safety Policy.
  6. The Company has a good health and safety record; the co-operation of every employee is necessary in order that standards may be maintained or improved wherever possible.

This policy is reviewed annually and if necessary is amended.

The Company also employ ProAktive Risk Management (a partnership with Atkinson Smith and Rixon Mathews Appleyard) to manage and oversee the Company wide Health & Safety Policy.
